Oscar Time to miss Grand National
Grand National antepost joint favourite Oscar Time will miss this year’s race after Sam Waley-Cohen tweeted that the 11-year-old would be sidelined for the rest of the season with a leg injury.
Oscar Time was 16/1 for the Grand National with StanJames.com before the news, and there has been money for David Pipe’s Junior who is now the 14/1 clear favourite.
StanJames.com spokesman Rory Jiwani says, “Obviously it’s a great shame that Oscar Time won’t get the chance to go one better than last year. The National market is starting to take shape and Junior, who also holds an entry for the Cheltenham Gold Cup, has been trimmed from 16/1 into 14/1.
“2011 hero Ballabriggs and Lexus Chase winner Synchronised are next best at 16/1 with the weights set to be announced on February 14th.”
