Wayne Rooney appeal made by Montenegro defender

It was a kick that Wayne Rooney must have replayed in his head on several occasions, wishing that he hadn’t lashed out with England leading 2-1 in Montenegro during the Three Lions’ final Euro 2012 qualifying match.

The Manchester United forward was brandished with a red card and is currently facing a three-game ban which would mean missing the entire group stage of Euro 2012 should Rooney be selected.

However, Montenegro defender Miodrag Dzudovic has written to UEFA hoping to help Rooney get the ban reduced. According to the Daily Mail, the letter was written by the Soviet Sport paper and signed by the player.

The letter said: Miodrag would like to underline that he didnt notice any signs of aggression in Rooneys actions.

In his opinion the England national team player was driven by emotions and it was an act of desperation rather than anger.

The most important detail we ask to take notice of is Wayne Rooneys apology. He realised his fault and felt guilty. UEFA pay so much attention to Fair Play principles but Waynes behaviour is the brightest example of fairness.

It is rare when a player leaves the field blaming no one but himself after being sent off. In our opinion, Wayne Rooney shouldnt be banned even for a single game. We hope to be heard in UEFA.
