WSOP final table decided; odds yet to be released

The World Series of Poker is down to its final table but oddsmakers have yet to update the odds to win the tournament. Phil Collins will be at the final table of the World Series of Poker. No, not that Phil Collins.The namesake of the famous musician is one of three Las Vegas natives in the field of nine that includes players from seven countries but none of the traditional big names.When the annual tournament began July 7, there were 6,865 players trying their luck – and skill – at no-limit Texas Hold ‘em. That field is down to single digits, and the nine survivors will return in November to play for the grand prize of $8.71 million.Collins, Matt Giannetti and Ben Lamb are the Las Vegas residents who will be joined by a global contingent.The others include Martin Stasko of the Czech Republic, who with 40.1 million in chips has over 6 million more than his closestpetitor.On Tuesday, Eoghan O’Dea of Ireland and Badih Bounahra of Belize both won all-in hands against John Hewitt of Costa Rica, whose elimination after 3 1/2 hours of play set the final group. Also surviving and moving on to the final table were Sam Holden of Britain, Pius Heinz of Germany and Anton Makiievskyi of the Ukraine.Bounahra is 49 and Staszko is 35, but the rest of the field is in their 20s. Holden has the smallest stack at 12.3 million.Bounahra is the only finalist who does not consider himself a professional player. He also does not play online, where most players ply their trade between tournaments.
