Can Broad get back to his best against India?

Stuart Broad has been struggling for form and knows he needs to get back to his best against India in the forthcoming Test series.

The 25-year-old pace bowler rose to prominence during the 2009 Ashes victory and to some extent he has been given the job of unsettling batsman ever since Andrew Flintoff retired from professional cricket. Those following the cricket odds will know how vital he has been.

Broad is battling with fellow paceman Tim Bresnan for a spot in the first Test against India as England look to prove themselves against the side ranked best in the international rankings.

Both Broad and Bresnan have been named in Englands 12-man squad for the first Test the former may be forced to play a minor role in the bowling attack after struggling for any form in recent months. Anyone looking at the cricket betting promotions should bear this in mind.

He excelled for Nottinghamshire recently but has failed to produce anything like that on the international scene, but England National Selector Geoff Miller has backed Broad to be back to his best against India.

We know what he is capable of doing, and when he puts on that England shirt we feel sure he will show exactly that and produce the goods and make it difficult for India, Miller told Sky Sports News.

They (Broad and Bresnan) are two bowlers who can produce on the day, and we are looking forward to them producing at Lords.

England captain Andrew Strauss is another man looking to get back to top form against India and bowler Steven Finn has backed his skipper to deliver something exceptional in the Test series.
