Djokovic is pleased to see new faces fight for the top spot

Novak Djokovic is currently enjoying fame and glory after taking the Grad Slam title at this years Wimbledon Tennis Tournament.

At just 24 years old the Serbian all-court star has now become our new No.1 in the mens world rankings.

Djokovic has given the technically flawless 10 Grand Slam victor Rafael Nadal some serious thinking to do, and those looking at the US Open Mens betting odds cant rule him out.

Showing his excitement in the presence of a new era in the sport Djokovic told the BBC:Now its definitely more than in the last five years, more players are able to win majors, more players are candidates for the top spot

He explained that fresh faces were good for the sport, but also made sure he didnt write off the two men who have dominated the game in the last few years Nadal and Roger Federer.

Indeed, the Serb predicted that the pair still have what it takes to win Grand Slams and warned people not to be surprised if they managed to add further titles to their already impressive tallies. The mens tennis betting certainly reflects this.

He also reminded people not to dismiss British hopeful Andy Murray who is still looking to win his first Slam.

At 24, some have started to suggest that Murray doesnt quite have what it takes to compete at the highest level, but Djokovic has no doubts about his rivals ability claiming that the world number four just needs to take that final step in order achieve glory.
