Mexicos young side took the lead against Chile through Nestor Araujo, but the latters experience told by the final whistle as goals from Paredes and Vidal allowed the South Americans to beat El Tri 2-1. A lot will depend on Giovani dos Santos, one of the few experienced players in Mexicos youthful squad.

Peru tend to sit at the back and are reasonably good at doing it, as their recent results will undoubtedly show you. Dos Santos, along with the young Rafael Marquez, will be the key to unlocking the Peruvian defence.

Peru form- last five games- most recent first- Peru scorers in brackets

Uruguay 1-1 Peru ( Jose Paolo Guerrero) Czech Republic 0-0 Peru Japan 0-0 Peru Peru 0-0 Ecuador Peru 1-0 Panama ( Contreras)

Mexico- form- last five games- most recent first- Mexico scorers in brackets Chile 2-1 Mexico ( Nestor Araujo) USA 2-4 Mexico ( Barrera x 2, Guardado, Dos Santos) Honduras 0-2 Mexico ( De Nigris, Hernandez) Mexico 2-1 Guatemala ( De Nigris, Hernandez) Mexico 4-1 Costa Rica ( Marquez, Guardado x 2, Barrera)

While Peru arent blessed in the attacking department like Argentina, Brazil or Uruguay ( the absence of Farfan and Pizarro worsens matters), their defence has been good in recent games. Mexico are playing without several first team members and scoring against a team that hasnt let in more than one goal in their last five games looks like a toughie.

Peru were decent against Uruguay, where they took the lead through Guerrero before Luis Suarez brought the World Cup semifinalists on level terms.

Verdict:- Peru 1-0 Mexico ( Guerrero)
