Tiger still touch and go

Its been another bad week for former world number one Tiger Woods. The 14-time major winner has seen his ranking drop down to 17th, following his absence at the US Open. That disappointment has now been followed up by the news that Woods has been forced to pull out of next weeks AT&T National, a traditional warm-up event for next months final major of the year, The Open. This will now mean the three-time Open champion has missed three of the events he usually uses as preparation for the final major of the season. Even if he makes the event, the British Open odds wont put him in with much of a chance.

Woods has admitted he wont be competing at the event following advice from his doctor, following his niggling left leg injuries that have dogged him since returning to the sport last year. The flare up of the injuries forced Tiger to withdraw from the US Open last month and now concerns have now been raised that Tiger may be forced to pull out of The Open next month in Sandwich.

While it seems to be all doom and gloom from those in the know, Woods himself has sounded positive about his return to action. On his official Twitter account, Tiger claimed to be feeling stronger every day but not 100% but with The Open edging nearer and nearer, there will be continued doubts regarding his participation at the Royal St Georges Course next month.
